If you are into surfing, not the web kind, there are some reasonably good waves which had a few people riding on, I haven’t seen anyone windsurfing there yet but looks pretty good conditions for it, how I am now thinking back to being in Lancelin and wishing i had learned to windsurf… long story cut short, one of the best places in the world to windsurf, but it was too windy for me to learn. There were a few people testing their kites for kiteboarding/kitesurfing which judging by the waves would have been awesome.

I never set foot unto the peir, it didn’t look particularly that interesting, apart from you can bungy jump off the top. A pretty small bungy jump too compared to my AJ Hacket bungy, but it would have been fun i’m sure. I tried to get Dorota to do a tandem one with me, but she wasn’t feeling the excitement.

If i had gone here a couple of hundred years ago, in fact in 1654, i would have probably been killed. As the Battle of Scheveningen was fought here between the English and the Dutch. The amusing thing is that in Britain anyone not in the actual battle would have ran off, but in the Netherlands the dutch stood on the beach to watch! I was curious as to which side won, and to my estonishment from reading the wiki both sides did

Whilst on the wiki i noticed this interesting piece of trivia:

“There is anecdotal evidence of the name Scheveningen being used shibboleth during WWII to identify German spies: they would pronounce the initial “Sch” differently from Dutch native speakers”

There is an amazing hotel in Scheveningen called the Kurhaus Scheveningen, it was built by ze germans in 1884, and has recently been completely renovated and now is a high class hotel and casino.

So to sum it up, if you’re ever near Amsterdam it is most definitely worth a drive to the beach here, it’s about a 45 minute drive away and so worth it for a nice chilled relaxing day, and dare I say it… almost as nice as Brighton

Argus interviews Stephen Grant.

It was fantastic and Milton Jones was the star of the show but of course the regular Stephen Grant was excellent too once he got warmed up. The other top comedians there were Rusell Howard and Ben Norris.

There was no compere and it was a totally new concept in stand up comic. Having four of the best UK circuit comedians on stage coming on and off the stage by tagging each other was excellent. It worked by quite simply one comedian doing his standup and as soon as another comedian thought of a link between what the other just said he would then get up and take over. So any act can bring on any other act, in any other order.<

The performance was a combination of their normal comedy routines and interactions with the crowds, but had no fixed time limits and no running order. So they could be up there for 2 minutes or 20!

The night was absolutely fantastic, the food was excellent and hope its on again soon!

To cut a long story short they are guilty of severe malpractice. I placed an offer 10% over the other buyer and was offering to pay with cash, and for some strange reason this offer was not given to the vendor!?!?!

Now why oh why would an estate agent not put a higher offer through? Considering they get a commission on the sale! The only theories that I can come up with are that they knew the buyer, or the estate agent was getting a nice backhander or something?

So my little dream flat is no longer to be, and I will be taking this complaint up with the ombudsman. But firstly I want to find the owner of the property so I can explain the situation to him with the hope that the sale will not go ahead.

I can remember watching a television programme on this very same thing, and it is actually very surprising how often this occurs!

Kendrick Property Services are most probably the worst estate agent in Brighton.

And to piss me off even more I found out yesterday that I didn’t get the converted church in Kemptown. The owner decided to take the lower offer which was £2000 less and I was able to pay cash. Apparently he is a very honest person and felt that he should take the other offer as they put it in first. But what really annoys me is that the girl from Kendrick Property Services couldn’t let me in the first time I went to see the place as the door was broken, so in fact I would have been the first person to make the offer.

Oh well shit happens I suppose.

Apart from pretending I was a designer for Clinton cards I spent the weekend looking at all sorts of strange Victorian conversions within the Brighton area. As i’m buying a flat in Brighton. The thing I just don’t understand is why the hell some flats have a massive bedroom and a tiny lounge. The others all have a massive lounge and a tiny bedroom. With every bathroom being the same size, ie the length of a bath and JUST wide enough to have a sink and toilet. This doesn’t bother me as I only need to wash and excrete in there. But all the bedrooms so far are only big enough for a bed, with no furniture. Or the the lounge will only fit one sofa and no where for a table…

Aghh… this has been driving me mad insane, until I saw a converted church in Kemptown. Its not a normal looking church as for some reason it’s been painted bright Yellow. But all the same it seems the nearest to perfect that I can get without spending almost quarter of a million on a flat! If only I lived in Newcastle. As everything is a quarter of the price.

I’ve ended up putting an offer in for the full asking price but I still don’t think that I will get it. I have to wait around all day today wondering if they will take it… I have a feeling that someone is going to gazump me.

The thing that really annoys me is that how the hell do I know if the estate agent is lying? I mean they say someone has put an offer in for ‘x’ amount and you put an offer in for ‘x+£1000′. The mysterious buyer puts an offer for ‘x+£2000′ and so on. But this other buyer may never exist, are there any laws for this?

Anyway lets wait and see what happens… whilst i’m still trying to buy a flat in Brighton.

This is not really my thing as who the hell would want to read someone else’s mundane thoughts. Especially as most people have enough on their own plates.

However working with a media company, it is full of geeks who absolutely love all this stuff and feeling pier pressure from them all, were forced to setup this blog… who knows what may have happened if I didn’t. (School thoughts of bog-washing has just entered my brain. It is actually very eloquently explained here)

Well for the second time this week I have coughed up hot warm fluid from my lungs, aka Tea. I still keep trying to persuade my self that it is possible to breathe with a lot of perseverance.

Anyway my head is thumping from this tiny flat screen I’m sat here perving at! Luckily for me it can’t abuse me back.
