Where have I been to? Countries & Cities

Where have I been to? Countries & Cities - feature photo

For no particular reason other than this arising in conversation the other day in the pub, I thought that I would start a list of all the countries and places I have visited (apart from home), so that one day I can look back and say wow… and get told by my grand children that country does not exist!

  3. Hey Alex, there’s this website that allows you to map your own maps of where you’ve been and place them on your blog or social network page: http://www.whereivebeen.com/

I personally use the map feature on http://www.getjealous.com/kemley although I don’t really use the rest of the site anymore.

  5. Hi Alex,
This website is really great, although it makes sad not having done all these trips…
Anyway, I just discovered an awesome website that could help travelers planning their trips : http://neomarco.com.
If you feel like a new Marco Polo, you should definitely take a look!
It’s a community-based website for travelers and craftspeople around the world who talk about the neat items they create and the cool finds they make!
You can share your best travel experiences by uploading unusual, authentic or ethical cool finds and though help other travelers to locate the cool objects to bring back from their trips! You can also show the world your personal creations.
And of course, it’s totally free.
I’m sure you have plenty of cool things you brought back from all these trips, i would like to see them!

  9. Hi Alex, Your website is really good and I am doing one for myself using the third party free blog, however I couldn’t find a template that I am looking for which is quite similar as yours. I am wondering do you buy a template or you created your own template, do you mind to share with me?

It seems to me that you saw too little of the Middle East..
Don’t you have any plans to travel there?

  19. Dear Alex and Dorota,

Have enjoyed reading your blog and would like to ask you a couple of questions. (Perhaps you answered them in an earlier posting that I have missed.)

    1. How do you pay for your travels? Do you have a regular “day job” that you can leave at will and which pays enough to cover your expenses? If not, how do you cover your expenses?
    2. About how long do you spend in a place? I know it will vary but, in general, are we talking days? weeks? months? years?

I ask only because I am curious how many readers of the blog can follow your travels and duplicate your lifestyle? I have done the same thing as you–traveled the globe–but I do it by living and working in the countries where I visit and earn enough to cover all my wife’s and my transportation and living expenses. (Described in my blog) Is that how you are able to afford travel? I would love to know in order to compare it with my own experiences. Thanks.

I look at your blog and I like it 🙂 Would you like to write an article on holiday in Siberia? I’m ready to show you a couple of cities in Siberia and to be a guide in a tourist campaign. It will be interesting. If you are interested in the offer, then please contact us by mail, describe in detail.
    Sincerely,
