Three types on banknotes

It is a bit confusing at the beginning to use Hong Kong dollars. Similar to India they have agreed to use more than one type of banknote for $20, $50, $100 and $1000.
The Government, through the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, authorizes three commercial banks to issue currency notes in Hong Kong:
– the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) Limited
– the Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited
– the Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited
